Ferry Ports – Just head South
The nearest ferry ports are in Caen and Cherbourg (we prefer the latter with its friendly bar and excellent hot chocolate). You can find us by heading South, a moderate drive down the Cotentin Peninsula, past the War Memorials and Museums, past Saint-Lo, towards the Mayenne Department (head for Saint Hilaire du Harcouet).

Find us from Saint Hilaire

From Saint Hilaire, it is a short drive to find us. First, head for Fougerolles du Plessis, then about 7 km to La Doree. Gite-Milvain is about 2km south along the D102 from La Doree, on the left at Milvain. Go past the small farm and the small farm lane, to the gravel driveway between maple trees, marked with the blue sign “Gite-Milvain“
From Paris and the East
Again, the route is fairly easy. Take the N12 West of Paris to Alencon then the D33 towards Gorron and Levare. At Levare, turn right onto the D102, towards La Doree and right again into Milvain after 2km .

From the South
There are several options but perhaps it is easiest to head for Poitiers, then Laval, then Ernee, Carelles, Levare and straight across the junction there to the D102 towards Milvain (after 2km).

The Gite is at the right hand end of our house (House # 3, Gite # 5). There is ample free parking and we will be there to meet you and show you to the gite.

There will be a small welcome basket of essentials when you arrive. Clean towels and bed linen are supplied and are free. There is free WiFi but it is a rural resource and not always reliable – sorry. There is a TV, with a few English channels via satellite (HDMI 1) and French Channels via internet (HDMI 2).
